I hosted the most wonderful group of girls at my studio for an intensive, one day still life painting workshop today.
I absolutely loved the day and was so proud of everyones achievements. Look at what they painted!!! Outstanding

Well done Cass, Cheryl and Cathy - saying of the day “limp asparagus” 😊🧡

WIP - on the easel this week, I am already in love with painting this painting…
I grew up with horses all around me though I was never a great horse-woman…
This beauty belongs to a friend of mine and he is a much fancier version of equine than my pony back in the day, Bindy-eye.
The background will be a gorgeous hand stitched tablecloth, owned by my Granny… going to need some time for painting that one…
Let’s hope I can do them all justice…
Back soon x

I know, I know…. I’ve been a bit absent…. The last 6 weeks I have had my head down and brushes up working on a very large painting - varnish goes on today!!!
I promise to show you soon.
It’s actually such a relief to be finished and yesterday I painted this little oil sketch of a friend’s beautiful horse… seriously it was so refreshing to move onto something new - and small!!
I will be doing a larger version of this magnificent fellow, this is just a little practice…
Excited to start my next painting and get back on track for my show at the end of this year.
Back soon x

Yesterday I had the great privilege of being one of the judges for @mudgeeartsprecinct
Local kids Archibald competition with @sampaine in anticipation of tonight’s opening of the 2026 Archibald which has just arrived in Mudgee for our viewing pleasure.
The children’s work was delightful, I thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the submissions and it was seriously difficult to select winners out of the finalists.
Looking at these thoughtful paintings and reading the very special captions reminded me of the importance of painting what is meaningful, because perfection definitely comes second to how a painting makes you feel when you are standing in front of it 🧡
🧡
The travelling Archibald opens tonight at MAP, see you there!

“Delia’s Blanket”
60 x 90cm oil on canvas
I came to the end of this painting much faster than I anticipated… so here it is, nice and early for you to enjoy all weekend - with a bit of Hot Chocolate “you sexy thing”, also the same era this blanket was lovingly crocheted.
Thank you again to @gsp_hans for allowing me to reference your beautiful photos.
If you can , please share and tag your friends as this is a huge help to me with my work.

WIP - yes, still the same painting and it’s still going…
When did I decide painting a crochet blanket was a good idea - this is my third pass…
Not too much longer and I will have a finished piece for you…
Keep cool pussycats…

How hot is it…???
I am having trouble even walking around inside with air conditioning - how did people survive in the good old days….? It’s a mystery…
A little bit of progress for your long weekend….
This painting concept is taken from my childhood, we had a GSP called “Secret”, he is positioned in front of what will be an intricately crocheted blanket… that will be a challenge….
I still have the blanket, but no more dog of course… and most of the few photos from my childhood were lost to a flood… lucky for me, @gsp_hans have kindly let me reference their beautiful photos… 🙏
Anyway… more on the story about this subject for you a bit later, in the meantime, keep cool and enjoy the day off tomorrow
