My first painting for 2024…. Good to have made a start…
This painting is a commission and was actually supposed to be finished last year but I ran out of year…
Never mind… I will be off to the beach shortly for our annual 2 week break and then back in the studio to start my new body of work for a solo later in the year with @satchandcogallery - this has been a long time coming and I can’t wait to get started…

Farewell to 2023 - what a fabulous year it has been…

Todays little study of my beautiful Charlie… my main aim was to get a complete painting down within an hour - wet on wet and capture the essence of my subject…. It is a very freeing process, no time to mince about trying to be careful, just have to keep going…

@fineartconnoisseurmagazine contacted me a few months ago asking if they could include my painting of fellow artist Michael Bourke in their “artists painting artists” section…
I said yes…of course….
Pretty excited to receive my copy this week….
Michael also excited to know that the whole of the US art community will now get to see his cool jacket….

Sky painting today….
As I was researching and developing my idea for the background…. I learned a lot of different names for cloud formations - I think these ones are called ‘altocumulus’….
I realised about half way through painting them that they satisfied my patterning needs….🩵
