How hot is it…???
I am having trouble even walking around inside with air conditioning - how did people survive in the good old days….? It’s a mystery…
A little bit of progress for your long weekend….
This painting concept is taken from my childhood, we had a GSP called “Secret”, he is positioned in front of what will be an intricately crocheted blanket… that will be a challenge….
I still have the blanket, but no more dog of course… and most of the few photos from my childhood were lost to a flood… lucky for me, @gsp_hans have kindly let me reference their beautiful photos… 🙏
Anyway… more on the story about this subject for you a bit later, in the meantime, keep cool and enjoy the day off tomorrow

Here I am starting work on my next canvas. The “frightening first” in a new body of work I’ve been quietly planning for a while. This series will weave together patterns and textiles, along with animals and objects drawn from my own life.
It always feels like a bit of a gamble sharing personal stories and ideas with collectors and friends, the world….especially when it’s still half-formed and making its way from my head onto canvas.
While this work won’t be a huge departure from my past paintings, my hope is to push the ideas further and elevate both the concept and my skills.
It’s not glamorous work. But it is deeply serious to me. And even if I look relaxed, I’m completely focused and committed to doing my very best in this strange and beautiful world of art.

Hellooooo 2026…!!
Back, rested, and straight into the studio with my first painting of the year finished today.
This is a commission of a friend’s mum. She’s 95 and happily checking emails and doing her online banking. Incredibly inspiring.
The background fabric is my own interpretation, inspired by research into textiles from the 1930s and 40s, around the time she was born - and a little bit of Fred Astaire to listen to, Cheek to Cheek, one of the top songs at this time 🩵
I hope I’m half this sprightly when I’m nearing 100.

My baby girl got engaged this week…. I am so filled with emotion it’s hard to pin one down…. Jarrod Wynn we welcome you to our family with open arms - the love story between you and our Charlie has only just begun, I am so proud and happy for you both 🧡❤️🩷
A little end-of-year round-up for you all. I have tried to do this three times now, It’s really hard to fit everything in!
People I love, paintings painted, kilometres driven, new friends, old friends, travelling, a solo show, group shows, a few prize nods and a whole lot of learning and unlearning. It has been full in every direction.
Merry Christmas and all the best for 2026. I’ll be keeping things quiet for a few weeks but the paint will start flowing again soon.
